Master Huy Phan practiced taekwondo for over 30 years. He held a 6th<\/sup> Dan Black Belt and competed provincially and nationally from 1993-2005, holding multiple poomsae and sparring titles. His love for martial arts extended into Brazilian Ju-jitsu, Filipino Martial Arts, Muay Thai, Boxing, and Krav Maga.<\/p>\n Master Huy Phan owned and operated Tri-City Taekwondo in Coquitlam, BC for over 10 years. Becoming one of the most successful dojangs in the region, he had a vision to create his own school from the ground up. In May of 2021, Master Phan made this vision a reality by opening a second dojang – 4 Elements Martial Arts.<\/p>\n More than just teaching the fundamentals of Taekwondo and martial arts, Master Phan fostered the building blocks of students to become the best versions of themselves. He consistently promoted a holistic approach to overall well-being in both mind and body. Master Phan had a connection with his students like no other and played an important role in building a strong, tight-knit community. Through his 25 years of teaching, he mentored an amazing team of Instructors who worked together to provide the highest level of training, many of whom are still teaching at this school today.<\/p>\n In March of 2023, Master Phan passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 43. His passion for martial arts and dedication to nurturing young minds was one of a kind.
